Emma is a second year ACM&MS MA student at Michigan State University with a focus on community-based collaborative research methods in museums and archaeology. This year, she is participating in the CAP fellowship, as well as the CHII fellowship, and continuing their work exploring community engagement strategies at the Broad Art Museum.
Eric Kesse is a Charlotte W. Newcombe Fellow and final-year doctoral candidate in African History at Michigan State. He studies the African environment with particular attention to Africa’s water systems and bodies of water. His work explores how African groups developed complex relationships with bodies of water over time and how those relationships shaped the history of the continent. Eric is excited to be part of this year's CHI Fellowship program, which allows him to work closely with colleague fellows to apply computational and digital approaches to understanding and recreating history.
Katie Knowles is a Ph.D. student in the Department of English at Michigan State University. She received her BA from Hanover College and her MA from the University of Birmingham’s Shakespeare Institute. Her research interests include early modern drama, affect theory, and spatial practice.
